Ansley Barton ESQ.
Ansley Barton has been a true Pioneer and advocate for mediation in Georgia’s judicial system for 40+ years. In 1993, Ansley was Director of the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. Since then, she has trained and certified 100’s of mediators. With the onset of Covid, Ansley retired from practicing Family law and training mediators. The 4-Day training curriculum RMG now uses to train mediators was graciously made available by Ansley. We are grateful for her contribution.
Our Role As Mediator
To actively listen to everyone’s grievances.
To allow all parties an opportunity to present their position and perspective. .
To be impartial and not takes sides, give legal advice, or make judgments.
To guide the participants through a collaborative problem-solving process during which participants develop solutions that meet their needs. All parties may co-exist in the same room, be divided into separate rooms, or conduct business via Zoom.
The mediator is not a Judge and does not make decisions or impose solutions on the dispute; rather facilitates honest, good faith, common sense approaches to problem solving.
Nor is the mediator an advocate or promote a specific outcome as “best”.
